After nearly 923 meandering days since losing Joyce on May 14, 2017, when I was 67, I began struggling with the possibility of never finding another wonderful relationship with a woman.
Completely naive about dating, using dating sites, I ended up having 15 dates (!) until I met Nancy on November 23, 2019.
I decided that my blind wandering through my thicket of loneliness until we met was best captured by the eight poems/essays I wrote during that time. These are below, especially for those who know what it means to lose what they thought was a lifetime companion, and then discover that was not to be. Read one or all, seeing my mental state as I moved through time.
But more than that, this is my first anniversary gift to Nancy Alexander.
