I really enjoy your quickie movies reviews. You are able to say a lot in a few words and get your point (and the movie theme)across. I have read 3 of your books and would recommend them to everybody. Any
one would enjoy (or cry, at times) over your experiences. Keep 'em coming.

No more time now but will continue to participate...now that I know how.

Well, Don, if I was ever picked to play Rhett Butler, which could only happen if all the other men in the United States were killed by a meteor, I would have Scarlett played by a nice, and wonderfully stacked, Jewish girl: Scarlett Johanssen. Hopefully, she wouldn't be too nice so I could get to know her...much better...off screen.

To Will, the 2nd comment person, thanks so much for buying my books. I have sold over 3,000 books to date and # 3 and # 4 are published and selling. If you are interested, and after reading the first two you should be, just call me and I'll autograph and send the the latest two books, if you wish.

All necessary info about that part of my life is at: www.fightingwordspubco.com, and also inside of your books.

200 movies a year is not so much if you don't go to or watch any sporting events whatsoever, Will. 200 movies a year are equal to about 2 + weeks, which is how long just ONE baseball game seems to me.

My life is infinitly richer for all the great movies I've seen. They punctuate my life.

Thanks for writing to, and remembering me, Will. Please tell others about this new, and silent effort of mine to make my mark. I plan on writing a new column every Saturday, and only about older films. Maybe...

200 movies a year? Good grief, Bob, what a lot of movies!

I see you still have your store. I visited your store in June of 2006. Glad you're still there.

I bought 2 of your books, and some ads from the 1930s for cars, pages from magazines of the Saturday Evening Post.

You and I talked about Reedmore's of Philadelphia, long since gone.

Stay well, and keep up the writing.

Happy New Year.

Here are my five:

Gunfight at the O.K. Corral is my favorite western. A good story of friendship when the chips are down.

Planet of the Apes is my favorite sci-fi movie. I was stunned at the ending of that movie. Lots of inside jokes and scenes so you have to pay attention to catch them all.

Gone with the Wind is my favorite epic film. If there's ever a remake, Bob Katzman should play Rhett Butler. :-)

Jaws is my favorite movie for sheer terror! My wife won't go more further into the ocean than her ankle's since that film.

Midway is my favorite war movie. I saw it a few weeks before I became a father and reminds me even when the odds are stacked against us, we can still win if we believe in ourselves.
